I'm going so I can collect the Sports Libre trophy for 2006. I'm in Paris this week too. The new job is incredible. I landed a really senior role, and its just what the doctor ordered. A real challenge. Technical. And I'm really relishing the challenge of working in a new environment, with a great bunch of people. I'm so pleased it worked out. It could have been a whole lot worse. Sunday 07th January 2007 We finished the Exeter trial unscathed last night. Setting off from Cirencester services at 00:30hrs, we travelled to the Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford, and after waiting an age were finally allowed to leave at 05:05hrs to set off for the first hill. The rain never stopped all day, which made the hills very difficult. Running in class 3 we failed Clinton and Waterloo, and then a couple others including Simms (nr Ilsington) which was impossible in the Suzuki X-90, despite all the ballast in the boot. Still we made Babbacombe (nr Torquay) for the finish at around 17:00hrs, and clocked up approx 200 miles during the day. It was great fun, and compared to the open top Liege, the X-90 was luxurious, with electric windows, power steering, and even a heater. |
