Lady Grosvenor Trophy sprint, 3 Sisters circuit, August 14th 2004

2nd in class 4B, and a new PB of 50.79 seconds. Great weather too for 3 Sisters (for a change). It started off quite slippy following overnight rain, but the track gradually dried out and times came down. I learnt that driving smoothly isn't rewarded with a good time. I really have to drive the XR2 like I've stolen it, to register a good time. A great track, one which really rewards a good setup, and with the slicks, it looks like I'm finally getting there. Les Proctor took class honours in his OMS, and he finished 9th overall, which shows the competition I'm up against in Sports Libre.

www.dsimages.co.uk were taking photographs on the day, and the results are pretty good. Go to the Lady Grosvenor Trophy sprint album and check class 4B to see pictures of me in action.

License upgrade signature number two has now been acquired.

My times were as follows:
51.83s 1st practice
52.47s 2nd practice
50.79s 1st timed (New PB)
51.95s 2nd timed

Result: 2nd in class, 40th overall from 95 finishers, 6th fastest saloon car.

Weather: Dry & cloudy start, warming up during the day, approx 20° C
Tyre pressures were 23.5psi [F] 21.5psi [R]
Tyres: Michelin N00 19/57R15 all round
Rear anti-roll bar was on the 2nd softest setting. (5x stiffer than standard ARB).
Front shock absorbers MAX-2 with 275lb springs, and 450lb springs at rear.
Here is a PDF file with the report that appeared in Nottingham Sports Car Clubs 'Spinoff' magazine, and Loughborough Car Clubs 'Backfire' magazine.
