Installing the engine
The engine is a 2.0 Zetec 16V, from a 1995 Mondeo GLX. It is mated to a five speed Quaife gearbox (with ATB LSD), with AP Clutch and diaphragm, and lightened steel flywheel.

Retaining strength is very important when modifying the rails The engine cradle, with slots cutout to clear the cooling fins in the gearbox The engine had to be raised into position, with the five speed box, to see where the chassis needed modifying for clearance Not much clearance between the water pump pulley and the chassis. Neither the waterpump nor the crankshaft pulleys are retained, but the chassis still needed modifying The lightened 1800 flywheel, which apparently weighs 5KG lighter than standar.
