Ford has loaned me a beautiful car this weekend. Its the Mondeo ST TDCI, with the 2.2 litre Turbo Diesel engine. Boy oh boy it flies. I've never driven such a powerful turbo diesel before. It has 155 BHP and 400 NM of torque, and the acceleration in 6th gear is staggering. I've ordered the same engine (and performance) in the my Mondeo Titanium, which looks a lot less aggressive, but has exactly the same stats. Cant wait! And thanks to Ford for the loan of the vehicle. I'm smitten.

Awesome day at Curborough today. I managed to get in to the 65's on my 1st timed run after lunch, but then watched a brace of Peugeot 205's and a 106 GTI all record 65 second times, and one of them even went quicker than me. So I thought, I AM going to be the fastest FWD car here today, and thats what I proved by slicing a whole second off my 1st run to record a 64.73s. I just went for it, I had a great run through the first corner, and carried the speed round the rest of the track. I even beat the blue Fiat 500 (#57), also in Sports Libre, but couldn't get anywhere near Les Proctors time in car #56 (Black OMS). The photos below were taken using my Canon Powershot G3.

I was the 2nd fastest FWD car up the Shelsley Hill last weekend. Beaten only by a Mini. Next time....

Ordered my new company car yesterday. I've chosen a 2005 Ford Mondeo Titanium, with the 2200cc 16V TDCI (Turbo Diesel) engine, which produces 155BHP and 400NM of torque. Top speed is 137MPH and 0-60 is around 8.7seconds. Cant wait to collect it. Delivery will be a couple of months apparently.

A new personal best today at Shelsley Walsh. I knocked 0.99s off my best time from last year, to record a 36.61. I know I could have gone faster. I still feathered the throttle at a couple of corners. Next year I'll have another go at getting in to the 35's. The incar footage is awesome. I've moved the camera to the front of the car, between the headlamps, for a much better perspective.
